WELCOME to Children’s Designer Boutique™ an upscale designer boutique that stocks and sells Children, Juniors, Misses, Ladies and Maternity clothing and accessories on consignment. The consignment fee is a one time fee of $ 20.00 Consignors will receive 50% of what an item sells for. Ex: If a person consigns a stroller, and it sells for $30.00 then the consignor gets $15.00. Consignors may drop off items for consignment any time during regular business hours. Clothing is seasonal only and must be of current style and in excellent/like new/gently used condition. Make sure clothing items are free of rips, tears, stains and are not missing any pieces or parts, such as buttons, beads, buckles, or snaps. Also, you should test all zippers and fasteners to ensure that they are in good working order. We accept the following: 1. Children’s clothing (newborn – size 16), shoes, coats, games, bedding, toys, sporting equipment and accessories. 2. Holiday outfits/costumes, school uniforms, movies, cds, dvds, etc. 3. Outside play-toys, playpens, cribs, toddler beds, strollers, walkers, exersaucers, jumparoos, and misc. 4. Maternity clothing, books and accessories. 5. Just about anything to do with children and maternity. We do not sell car seats, mattresses, or recalled merchandise. 6. Children's clothes (freshly laundered, folded, and placed in a box with your name and phone number clearly written on it). The only logo clothing that will be accepted are designer brands such as “Abercrombie”, “Old Navy”, “And 1” etc.. Logo’s containing destinations such as “Daytona Beach”, Las Vegas”, etc.will not be accepted. However, we will accept Hard Rock Café and Salty Dog. 7. Maternity clothes (pressed and on hangers). 8. Shoes (machine-wash and pluck the velcro). 9. Equipment (machine-wash the fabric parts and wipe down the plastic). 10. Don't forget batteries! All toys and games must have all pieces and batteries if needed. Tami Howell-Soto, owner of newly opened Children's Designer Boutique, has been there, thank you, and vows to ease the way for harried moms. Her shop layout is colored by memories of days as a pregnant single mother squeezing a stroller into a thrift shop fitting room to size up maternity clothes. She takes good care of young families with a roomy space fitted with a sink and changing table. Preschoolers can make themselves at home at a pint-sized play table with toys and videos close at hand. Parents will get in and out in a hurry with orderly, uncluttered racks organized by size and gender. Don't expect to waste time rummaging through undesirables. The name brands moms look for make up 95 percent of the inventory. And every piece is in top shape. For infants and toddlers, look for Baby Gap, Heart Strings, 4- to 5-piece Gymboree sets and more. Little shoes are in mint condition. School-age kids up to size 16 (plus a few zeros and ones) are finding Abercrombie, Ralph Lauren, Old Navy and Limited Too. Expectant moms can refresh wardrobes with Motherhood fashions from $10.50 to $14.50. And 95 percent of children's finds sell for less than $10. Outfit a baby's room in a jiffy with a 17-piece Pooh Bear ensemble. Take home a gently used white crib, four framed prints, bedding, mobile, lamp and bright Pooh rug for $350. Nothing softens a room like classic pink and white gingham. Just add curtains, a valence, pillow cases, baby bedding and more from Pottery Barn Kids. For a young University of Kentucky fan, add a basketball ambience to his fantasy room with pennants, posters, blankets and a Wildcat-blue locker (20-piece set, $206). Don't forget a la carte pieces like a white metal toddler bed frame ($12) or Graco reclining high chair ($24.50). Now arriving, smaller-sized prom wear. Watch for soccer, softball and baseball gear, too. Consignment items sell at full price for a month. Then watch the discount board for color-coded deals, sweetened weekly.
